    A conservative calculation shows that investing in plants in the workplace quickly becomes as attractive proposition in financial terms. A company with 100 VDU workers manages to reduce absenteeism by 1% with the aid of 100 planted troughs in the workplace.
    For example:
    - One-off investment in 100 planted troughs - £10,000
    - Annual costs (maintenance, replacement, depreciation - £4,000
    - Annual benefits (-1% absenteeism = 1 annual salary) - £20,000
    - Net benfit - £6,000 pa (year 1), £16,000 pa (subsequent years)
